  • IICA Support the WADN and GAS at the Regional Agricultural and Commercial Exhibition (RACE)

    The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) Delegation in Guyana continued its Technical Cooperation Programme providing support to the Women Agro-processors’ Development Network (WADN) and the Guyana Apiculture Society (GAS) for their participation in the Regional Agricultural and Commercial Exhibition (RACE) in Region 5 on September 27, 2019 at Paradise Village, West Coast Berbice.

  • IICA and the OAS signed MoU for Renewable Energy Solution

    Georgetown, Guyana. The IICA Delegation in Guyana and The General Secretary of the Organization of American States in collaboration with the Guyana Power & Light Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement a renewable energy project at our office. This official signing took place at the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Board Room on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

  • Highlights of CWA 2018

    Caribbean Week of Agriculture 2018 was held in Barbados during the week of October 8th to 12th under the theme ‘Strengthening Agriculture for a Healthier Future'.

  • Continued Economic Independence: Improved Productivity and Marketing, the Keys

    Georgetown, Guyana. The Women Agro-processing Development Network is a registered economic venture comprising thirteen(13) Community-based Women’s Groups, whose formation was facilitated through the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture Increased Market Access and VSO’s (now CUSO) Making Markets Work 4 You Project in 2010 during a workshop held in Hosororo.

  • Continued Partnership and Collaboration

    Two Member Groups of the Women Agro-processors Development Network located in Wowetta Village and Moco Moco Village, Rupununi, received assistance from CIDA which facilitated the construction and equipping of their farine processing facilities. Both upgraded facilities became operational earlier in 2018.
