Round Table: The importance of fruits and vegetables in the transformation of Agri-food Systems

From a perspective of the Americas towards the 2021 United Nations Food System Summit

With the aim of disseminating up-to-date knowledge and proven concepts on the role of fruits and vegetables in sustainable food systems, the Round Table will promote a high-level discussion, from a perspective of the Americas, on sustainable production practices in preparation for the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS).

In addition to comments from the four experts (Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, and USA). Internationally renowned speakers and industry leaders will foster interaction with the audience. The content of the Roundtable will be published by IICA as a contribution to the technical and public policy discussions of the Institute Member States and to their positioning towards the UNFSS.

The event will be guided through three general questions addressed to 4 international panelists and will be moderated by the Director General of IICA, Manuel Otero.

Target audience: government authorities, industry representatives, farmers, academic institutions and members of civil society from IICA member countries.
