Working from dawn to dusk, in a race against time before the start of the rainy season, nearly 4000 hectares of farmland were prepared for planting in March and April.
The tractors were supplied by the neighboring Dominican Republic and the governments of the United States and Brazil each provided half of the funding required.
The project is one of a number being carried out by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) under the emergency program designed to support food production in Haiti.
