Four audiovisual clips on pilot projects implemented in Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica and Suriname were created as part of a process aimed at disseminating knowledge and providing tools to facilitate decision making in five Caribbean countries.
The event included five panel discussions on investing in ecosystem services, irrigation projects, reuse of wastewater in agriculture, and collaborative methodologies for water conservation, among other topics.
The agenda will include water conservation initiatives such as reuse projects, innovative irrigation systems, and desalination units.
With support from IICA and AUSAID, six rural villages in the hinterland of Suriname now have access to potable water through the installation of rainwater harvesting systems.
Main actions focus on silvo-pastoral systems, enterprise development plan, capacity building of dairy clusters and data collection.
Addressing the challenges of climate change thorugh disastres risk management will be the focus of a two-day meeting hosted by INTRA-ACP APP, and project funded by the European Union.
