Our cooperation

We operate via four technical cooperation instruments that generate concrete results through effective and transparent use of our human, financial, and infrastructural resources in each country:

  • Flagship Projects. These projects are the backbone for delivering technical cooperation aimed at achieving the eleven institutional contributions proposed for the 2014-2018 period, and which relate to competitiveness, sustainability, and inclusion.
  • Externally funded projects. Instruments financed entirely with external funds and designed or implemented to complement and expand the actions of IICA under the 2014-2018 Mid-term Plan.
  • Competitive Fund for Technical Cooperation (FonTC). An IICA mechanism used for financing projects geared toward securing external resources and increasing the mobilization of new financial resources to complement the regular fund.
  • Rapid Response Actions (RRA). RRAs respond to specific requests and opportunities that emerge in a country or in a group of countries in response to political, social and economic changes, environmental emergencies or other emerging issues.
