IICA showcases its work for agricultural chains in the Americas
San Jose, 2 November, 2017 (IICA). The project has trained over 14,600 people involved in agriculture and has strengthened 14 chains in 10 countries, and these are only a few of the accomplishments of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) to improve the competitive, sustainable performance of chains in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
The Institute has also conducted over 422 technical cooperation activities, among them, capacity building processes, studies, reports, methodologies, proposals for policies, strategies and projects, and technological innovations.
These and other outcomes are displayed in a video that sets out the achievements of the IICA Flagship Project on Competitiveness and Sustainability of Agricultural Chains.
The work has focused on strengthening policies and the institutional framework; management of agricultural chains and development of agribusiness skills; innovation for productivity, efficiency and sustainability, and market access and penetration.
IICA is also introducing 38 publications and documents that address some of the areas of action critical to this Flagship Project, such as policies, innovation, markets, agroindustry, agricultural health and food security, among others. These publications are international public goods and can be found in a single document that gives access to them all .
