Horticultural farmers and agricultural technicians in Suriname strengthen their knowledge and skills in climate smart technologies to assist them in building resilience to the negative impacts of climate change.
The relationship was formalized by Tang Heng, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Costa Rica.
Representatives from six countries met to discuss actions for the region’s social and economic development, with IICA’s participation.
The agreement was signed by Manuel Otero, Director General of IICA, and the Chilean Undersecretary of Agriculture, Alfonso Vargas.

The Institute made the request during a debate on rural development organized by Women 20 (W20), the women’s affinity group of the G20, which will present its recommendations to the leaders of that forum of developed and emerging nations.
