Access to technology, health, and training are the salient features of an agreement that was signed at Fruit Logistica 2019.
The Ministry of Regional Development disseminated Brazil’s Strategic Action Plan for the Rehabilitation of Dams, a product of technical cooperation with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
One hundred and fifty specialists gathered at the Headquarters of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) to attend the II Global Conference of the UN Sustainable Food Systems Program. Discussions focused on the need to ensure a balance between food production and the health of the planet.
Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Jamaica and Dominican Republic are part of this initiative, which will benefit 5,000,000 people in the region who directly depend on the production of this crop.
The agreement will accommodate sharing of knowledge and innovations, agricultural exchanges and joint research internships to respond to the increasing productivity challenges being faced by farmers across the hemisphere. IICA prepared a publication to guide Caribbean countries in fostering solid government actions to improve the productive development and quality of life of small-scale farmers.
