The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in coordination with the National Council on Science and Technology (CONACYT) of Mexico, is launching an unique initiative to strengthen the technical capacities of motivated individuals interested in developing agriculture in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
CONACYT will offer one hundred scholarships per year to professionals from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) who wish to undertake postgraduate programs in several universities and research institutes in Mexico. This call is also open for Spanish speaking citizens of any Latin American or Caribbean country currently studying in the United States.
The initiative focuses on the development of technical capabilities of the scholarship recipients, through participation in studies of specialization or programs of M.Sc. and Ph.D. related to the IICA’s medium-term plan:
- Technological innovation
- Agricultural health and food safety
- Agribusiness and commercialization
- Agriculture, territories and rural well-being
- Agriculture, natural resource management and climate change
- Agriculture and food security
The IICA Office in the United States is responsible for coordinating this effort in the country.
