University of Nebraska-Lincoln
The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) entered into a Cooperative Agreement in 2007 and the primary objective is to develop collaborative efforts which will enhance the academic and technical interchange between and among the two institutions. Recognizing the importance of mutual collaboration, and the contributions to society made by institutions of research, higher education and technical cooperation, the partners desire to promote exchange between faculty, researchers, and students and other personnel of the two institutions, exchange of instructional research and other information, and jointly contribute to the sustainable development of global food systems safety, including agriculture, rural development, and the economic viability of selected industries and enterprises in the Americas.
Objectives:
(a) Coordinate the programmes of work of both organizations to the extent possible so as to create the synergies to forge a logical and cohesive framework for agricultural development in the Americas.
(b) To foster linkages and transfer relevant information, technology and skills between IICA and UNL
(c) To establish a framework and legal basis for Specific Operating Agreements that may arise in the future from shared concerns or in response to proposals for collaboration by either Party.
