                         University of Minnesota- Center for Animal Health and Food Safety

The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Regents of the University of Minnesota by and through the Center for Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2007 and the primary objective is to develop collaborative efforts to enhance the academic and technical interchange between and among the two institutions, in order to benefit the Latin American and Caribbean Region and the University of Minnesota (UMN).

Objectives:
(a) Coordinate the programs of work of both Parties to the extent possible so as to create synergies that forge a logical and cohesive framework for agricultural development in the Americas. 

(b) Foster linkages and transfer relevant information, technology and skills between IICA and CAHFS.

(c) Establish a framework and legal basis for Specific Operating Agreements that may arise in the future from shared concerns or in response to proposals for collaboration by either Party.

X.        Provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduates and professionals to experience another learning environment by exchanges between the Parties.
