IICA Presents Commemorative Gift to Secretary Vilsack at the USDA

(October 2nd, 2009) -IICA’s Director General, Dr. Chelston Brathwaite presents a picture of former Vice President Henry Wallace, the co-founder of IICA, to James W. Miller, Under Secretary, Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services, USDA to commemorate the visit of the Director General and U.S. Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack earlier this year. Secretary Vilsack expressed great admiration for Vice President Wallace during the meeting. In view of his high esteem for the former Vice President and Agriculture Secretary, one picture was given as a gift to Secretary Vilsack while another group of three photographs will be hung in the Henry Wallace Conference Room near the office of the U.S. Secretary in Washington DC. Also participating in the event was Christopher Hansen, IICA Deputy Director General and David C. Hatch, IICA Associate Deputy Director and Representative to the United States.
