IICA Food Safety and Trade Conference 2011 Date: December 2nd - 3rd, 2011 Location: Miami, Florida, USA The Food Safety Conference and Trade 2011 has been designed to provide the latest information and the marketing implications of regulatory frameworks recently issued proposed or implemented by the major economies and how these affect the exporting countries and their agricultural industry. Additionally, there will be a discussion on of the effects of these regulatory changes in official institutions and exporting countries as they apply to local producers and processors. Finally, discussion will be focused on initiatives to improve international capabilities to provide an adequate response to this situation and contribute to the implementation of such changes on government agencies and trade promotion organizations to facilitate access to these markets will also be presented. IICA Day 2011: " The Impact of Youth and Innovation in Agriculture in LAC" Date: November 2nd, 2011 Location: Washington D.C. IICA in partnership with the OAS is organizing the 6th Annual ‘IICA Day’ event in the format of an OAS Policy Roundtable on November 2nd, 2011 at 3pm in the OAS Hall of the Americas in Washington, D.C. This event will include guest speakers followed by a panel discussion of four youth entrepreneurs in agriculture development.
Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas 2011  Date: October 19th – 21st, 2011 Location: Costa Rica Ministerial Theme: "Sowing innovation to harvest prosperity" During the Meeting the urgent need to foster innovation in the agricultural sector in the hemisphere will be discussed. To achieve this goal, increased investment and cooperation between countries and international research agencies is required.
