IICA/CARDI MEDIA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN AGRICULTURAL JOURNALISM 2010-2011
The 2nd annual IICA/CARDI media Award for Excellence in Agricultural Journalism was launched on November 23, 2010 in Port of Spain Trinidad, under the theme:
"Agriculture - Rooting for Sustainable Development"
The competition was open to all full time and freelance journalists working with daily newspapers, radio and television, particularly those who cover agriculture on a regular basis between the period March 31st 2010 to March 31st 2011.
The Representative of the IICA Trinidad and Tobago, Mr Gregg Rawlins and Executive Director of CARDI, Dr Arlington Chesney expressed satisfaction over the high quality of entries in all categories.

Winners of the IICA/CARDI awards for Excellence in Agricultural Journalism were announced at a recent function which was held at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya. The competition was initiated under the IICA/CARDI project (2008-2009) entitled: "Enhancing Information and Communications for Food security in Trinidad and Tobago". The theme for the inaugural competition is: Achieving food security in Trinidad and Tobago - a national priority.
