Following an extensive assessment of the Veterinary Services Division in the Ministry of Agriculture, IICA developed and submitted an implementation project plan for the modernization of the unit. (2008)

IICA facilitated the production and dissemination of the Caribbean version of a radio series promoting the prevention of the Avian Influenza H5N1 Virus to stakeholders in the agriculture sector. (2008)

 

   

Radio Series to promote the prevention of Avian Influenza

The Institute coordinated information gathering sessions with stakeholders to assess the Sanitary and Phyto-sanitary Systems in Jamaica. A follow-up session dubbed the Common Vision workshop was later hosted to discuss with stakeholders the findings of the assessment and to develop strategies for addressing the needs and gaps identified.
