Representative in the Bahamas
Mr. Manuel Messina is the Representative of the Institute in the Bahamas. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (APEC University, Santo Domingo) and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics (Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra, Santo Domingo).
He has more than 20 years of administrative and technical experience in business organizations as well as international cooperation and trade promotion organizations. He has worked in the areas of institution building, support to organizations and businesses, organization of events, and advisory services in the areas of foreign trade, international marketing and projects.
He has broad experience in trade promotion that include the development of exports between Cuba and the Dominican Republic, advisory services for companies from the Dominican Republic and from Trinidad and Tobago, two export platforms to the United States, one to France, and the design and execution of projects relating to technical assistance and training in trade, agribusiness and agrotourism, among other areas. He was recognized for his leadership of several missions to Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake. He joined IICA in 2006
