Ms Gordon holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Science from the Wageningen Agricultural University in The Netherlands, BSc (Hons) in Agronomy from the University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus and an Associate Degree (ASc Hons) from the Jamaica School of Agriculture, Twickenham Park.

 

Ms Gordon joined the IICA Office in Jamaica as a short-term consultant in August 2000.  Her creative skills, flexibility and team spirit were soon recognized as assets from which the Institute could benefit.  She worked in the Office in Jamaica for two years as a National Specialist in Rural Development and in the Office in Barbados for two years as a Regional Specialist in Agribusiness Development.   

 

She also managed the operations of the Office in Jamaica in 2002 in the absence of a Representative.

 

Ms Gordon brought to IICA over 20 years of experience in the field of agriculture and business development, having collaborated with, and held numerous positions in both public and private sector organizations in Jamaica as seen in her Curriculum Vitae.

 

She has worked as Project Officer/Team Leader on a number of internationally funded projects and brings this wealth of project management experience to her role at IICA where she has successfully managed to date, a national Sustainable Rural Development Programme a programme of support to agribusiness micro-enterprises with emphasis on the incorporation of women and youth and the regional agribusiness programme.
