About agriculture

The United States of America

The United States, the leading net importer of agricultural products in the hemisphere in 2006, became the third largest net exporter of agricultural products in the hemisphere in 2008. It was able to do because it improved its agricultural terms of trade and because the increase in the value of its agricultural exports (57% for 2006-08) exceeded increase in the value of its agricultural imports (18%).
