Objective 1. To provide technical cooperation aimed at strengthening entrepreneurial capacity
The aim of this mandate is to support the development of capacities that will enable enterprises to compete successfully in the new global market place. To achieve this goal, the following highlighted programs have been developed:
Export Platforms
This program provides training in international businesses, identifies business opportunities, and provides opportunities to participate in a trade-related event (fairs or trade missions). The Platforms are aimed at groups of 10 to 15 enterprises in the agrifood sector which are interested in exporting to specified markets. Enterprises participating in the Export Platforms must have a product ready for export.
Training to prepare export business plans
Participating enterprises will develop or strengthen their capacity to prepare their own export plans. The program is divided into 8 training modules which are practical in nature and focus on case studies, teamwork and invited speakers.
Assessment of export capacity
This system consists of a series questions and answers entrepreneurs can use to assess their readiness to export and to identify their priorities as they prepare to enter new markets.
Management of small- and medium-scale rural enterprises
This training and advisory program is designed to strengthen the management, organizational and financial capacity of small- and medium-scale rural enterprises. It is aimed primarily at associations or groups of entrepreneurs interested in consolidating their business activities in local and regional markets.
