Vision    Integrated Distance Education System that articulates, promotes, consults and develops on line courses and events that generates a learning community within the Americas, assuring quality and innovation in the management of IICA´s and its strategic partners on line and videoconference technical cooperation. Mission    CECADI is the technological distance education web specialized in the use of multimedia technologies, telecomunications and on-line learning, which purpose is to support the IICA technical cooperation teams and the strategic partners, providing the instruments y mechanisms needed to strengthen the technical cooperation procedures in distance education matter.

Objectives

• To support the technical cooperation and management teams to improve their actions through the optimal use of the resources that the distance education technologies have and to attend the educational needs  of the IICA staff and its strategic partners.
• To promote de equipment of the IICA Offices in the different countries, through the multimedia tools which strengthen the effective participation capabilities in the Center's program.
• To join the distance education processes, increasing our successful experiences within the IICA Institute.

Lines of action

• To Develop distance education program, with technical support and high quality standards in the use of instruments, with advance information, telecommunication and internet technologies, as an answer to the demand of management and technical cooperation of the Institute
• To Identify, systematize, register and exchange successful experiences in the distance education of the institute and its partners; to potentialize the products and services that the IICA generates.
• To Define, design and develop multimedia and on-line capacitation programs to strengthen the capacities of the IICA staff and its strategic partners in the utilization of the distance learning technologies.
• To give technical support to the member countries in equipment adaptation and utilization matters for distance education

Videoconference

CECADI also has available the service of videoconference to generate and strengthen the learning web within the member countries of IICA.  Different events are held by videoconference in the americas, some of them are courses, meetings and presentations. 

The objective of the videoconference is to support the technical cooperation within the institute.  Achieving that, the CECADI coordinated more than 50 videoconferences communicating the continent during 2008.  CECADI also helps and motivates the offices in their process of acquiring videoconference equipments.   At the moment the South and the Andinia Regions are fully equipped, soon every country in all the regions will have at IICA´s office the technology to reach others by this technology.  Now, each day the offices are getting more familiar to this type of events by the experiences held of connecting to other countries through the organizations at IICA´s level in this competitive media.
