The Multisectorial Groups in Biotechnology and Biosafety are groups of well recognized professionals within the region selected by their expertise and knowledge of the region they belong to. Since the members of these groups come from the private sector, the public sector and academia, they have been appointed by their respective Governments as representatives. The Multisectorial Groups are working jointly and ad hoc with IICA on the implementation of strategic regional activities in biotechnology and biosafety.
